Race 1

No. 5 R DOUBLEDAY: First time starter was coming out of post position 11 and showed good early speed battling tooth and nail for the entire 6½ furlong trip. Lost by a head when between the top two on the line, but more than seven lengths clear of the remaining eight finishers. If able to clear next time out she will be gone. $$$

Race 6

No. 14 NAVY SEAL SIX: Was coming off a layoff for trainer Kristin Mulhall, he showed good early speed. Got caught down on the inside and had to be steadied hard when in tight going into the turn. Looked like that would cost him the race, but he battled back and won going away by ¾ of a length in a big try. This gelding runs like he really likes this cushion surface and could repeat.
