DEL MAR

Race 3

No. 6 PERFECTA: Really freaked on this course, but could come back to score. $$$$$

Race 6

No. 4 PATS BACK: First time starter for the low profile connections of trainer Michael Pender and jockey Saul Arias. The opening line on this filly was 20-1, but she opened at 4-1 in the betting and closed at just 6-1. She ran super, just missing the place by a neck despite trouble. The odds-on choice won. We will give her a big shot next time out.

Race 10

No. 11 MIDNIGHT RAVEN: Was making his first start off the layoff for trainer Peter Eurton. Broke slow and was crowded, but he settled very comfortable while down on the inside. Really got going down the lane and came home like a freight train missing by a dwindling head to the even money favorite in what was a huge effort. $$$$$
