DEL MAR

Race 4

No. 4 J and S EXPRESS: Was claimed for 16k by trainer Bill Spawr from a low profile barn and brought her back for 20k – changing jockeys and giving her a turn back in distance. She was bet like the winner and won like the money dictated. Trainer Doug O’Neill, who is getting ready for a big Del Mar meet, put up 20k for the claim which netted Spawr’s owners a cool $21.400. Nice day at the races. $$$$$

Race 8

No. 10 FEAR THE BEARD: Looked ready to win with all the early speed in this race, but two of the speed horses got scratched late and that compromised this one’s chances. He ran big battling it out for the place money while down on the rail. Will be ready to win next out. $$$
