DEL MAR

Race 1

No. 3 DISTANT IMAGE: Was pulling his jockey Julien Leparoux out of the saddle, but he kept hold of the filly on this speed favoring surface. She split rivals on the turn and came three wide into the stretch. Could only muster midpack as she could not make up any ground late. She will be ready for the win next out and the price will be right. $$$

Race 6

No. 10 ROOKIE SENSATION: When playing exactas I love to use the horse exiting the same race no matter how bad they look. In this race there were three coming out. This was one wide open 1 1/16 route for straight maidens. These two who finished ninth and eighth out of the same race came in one two this time around. The winner Rookie Sensation went off at 16/1 and the second place finisher Wicked Finance at a whopping 47/1. The exacta paid $603.60 for two bucks, with the second place finisher some 3 lengths clear of the rest, so think about it when making exactas and Qs.
