No. 4 AMERICAN PRIDE: Finished fourth behind Albert’s Hope more than five lengths clear of the rest. He showed good early speed battling tooth and nail in this 5 furlong sprint. Will clear next time out and go wire-to-wire. $$$$$

No. 4 GLAD’S GALS: Finished second here last July and was sent to the bench. She showed up in this 20k maiden claimer and made the 7/5 chalk. She was next to last at the quarter pole in this 5½ furlong sprint, but made a four wide run down the lane finishing a close fourth.

No. 6 WINNING RHYTHM: Had the winning rhythm going into this mile turf race, but after the late scratches those chances went down the drain. There ended up being only one speed horse in the race on this rock-hard turf course. She stayed to her game and came from far back in this 12-horse field, picking up the place in a big effort. This girl will be very hard to beat next time out going long on the Del Mar grass. $$$

No. 7 ICONIC SPIRIT: Steady filly for trainer John Sadler made a huge five wide run turning for home coming from last to second in a blink of an eye. She zipped home but missed by a half-length. She will be one tough cookie again next time out. A must use first and second in the exotics.

No. 12 GINGER TAP: Just finished ¾ length behind Winning Rhythm. She broke slow and was far back. Started her run just about the same time as Winning Rhythm and came home fast to pick up the show dough. Would love to see these two come back in the same race so we can play the Q and the trifecta with them as the two key horses 1-2. $$$
