Race 3

No. 11 JOE CARL (on the also list): Don’t know what the record is but this gelding was claimed last time out which made it eight straight times now he has been claimed. This time it was by Doug O”Neill who lost him one race back for 25k only to come right back and re-claim him for the same amount. Interesting.

Race 4

No. 9 NEW YEAR’S DAY: First time starter for trainer Bob Baffert ran a better than looked third when making a four wide move into the stretch. Finished fast just missing the place money and will be tough in start No. 2.

Race 10

No. 2 ROOKIE SENSATION: Was exiting our HTW list and getting off at 14-1 in this 1-1/16 route. It was time to jump in. Made an eye catching four wide run into the stretch and looked to run by the 2-1 chalk. Just failed by a neck. We will keep this up and comer on our list.

No. 7 LOS BAMBINOS: At the spa and that is both Del Mar and Saratoga you must watch the money. This runner in from Pleasanton was listed at 15-1 on the morning line but the cash kept coming. Was sent off at 6/1 and ran huge finishing second in a troubled effort.
