No. 5 SRI’S RED: Was last seen finishing up the track at Del Mar last year with straight maidens. She came back in this $20k maiden claimer and just did fail to get there. May have been best but had a very wide trip. With this race under her belt she will be a solid single for a barn that is due to heat up.
No. 1 BLACKFORD: Ran huge when dead heated for the win. He stumbled at the start and trailed to the second turn in this 1 1/16 route. Circled six wide and came home like a freight train to get up for what looked like the win, but after the photo it was ruled a dead heat.
No. 8 HOPPERTUNITY: One of three Baffert runners in this 7 furlong maiden race. This one hesitated at the start to be last and stayed last until the top of the lane when making a five-wide run, picking up a few pieces late. There is more here than meets the eye and the price will be right in his next start.
