Race 1

No.1 MANK: Was making his first start since January 2012 for trainer John Shirreffs, who can have them ready off the layoff. He was ready and ran a good race but had to settle for second when run down at the wire. Next time he gets the money.

No.4 A RED TIE DAY: Was coming off the layoff for trainer Ron Ellis who left this closer in to run on this wet fast surface. He had little or no shot with his running style but came on against the bias and was actually making up some ground late in what was a much better than looked effort. We will take a big shot on a fair surface next time out. $$$
