SANTA ANITA

RACE 4

No. 1 SUNSET SKIES

Was last seen winning at the recently closed Hollywood Park back in July of last year. She broke slow in this 6½ furlong, downhill turf sprint. Split rivals in midstretch finishing a game third while just missing the place by ¾ of a length. Trainer Dan Blacker will have this girl ready for the score next time out.

and No. 4 JADE WITH ENVY

We go from Optimism to Envy. This filly was last seen running up the track at recently closed Hollywood Park last April. Trainer Mike Puype brought her back in top form. She split horses past midstretch and surged late to just miss by a very fast dwindling neck. We will be using her as a single next time out going down the hill, or even a mile looks like a perfect fit.

GOLDEN GATE

Race 7

No. 6 EDDIE’S FIRST

A big WOW goes out to Eddie as he just blistered this downhill turf course in 1:10.7, a new record for Santa Anita, with Elvis Trujillo, who’s back to the place he got his big start. Elvis can flat out ride and this colt is ultrafast. Will be very hard to beat on this course. We will be singling next time out in the picks.

and No. 7 PATRIOTS RULE

Was exiting our HTW list and got off in this 1-1/8 turf route at almost 6/1. He ran a huge race to finish second by ¾ of a length and looks to have found a home on the grass. We will continue to follow him as long as he stays on the grass.
