SANTA ANITA
RACE 4
NO. 2 KANTUNE: Just love horses exiting the same race and we had three in this maiden for 2yo with Kantune sent off at even money. The one he beat last time out, who finished 9th, somehow held off Kantune late, paying $34.20. Kantune came fast but just could not catch the lone speed winner. Will be a solid single in the picks next time out.
RACE 6
NO. 7 AMERICAN PHAROAH: According to Baffert this is the best 2yo in his stable. He was sent off at 7/5 in his first start, showed some good early speed but tired late when battling on the front end. He took the blinkers off and was put in this Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity. Blitzed home, winning by almost 5 lengths. We will follow all the way to the Kentucky Derby.
RACE 9
NO. 9 GENDER AGENDA: Trainer Carla Gaines saved this filly until closing day at Del Mar sending her a mile on the grass in her first start in the country. She won for fun and looks to be a nice filly on the grass at Santa Anita. She will repeat.
