At Del Mar

RACE 6 NO 11 BASMATI: Was exiting our HTW list and ran a winning race but had the misfortune of meeting up with another Bob Baffert first-time starter who went wire-to-wire. Basmati was more than five-lengths clear of the rest. We will keep him on our list.

No. 7 BLING CHA BLING: 2yo first time starter for trainer Kathy Walsh just looked super on the track as his gray coat was dappled and glistening. Chased the odds-on Night Tide and the rail speed around the course. Could not run them down but his race was excellent. Will score soon and be a force when the distances get longer. $$$$$

RACE 7 NO 1 DEPUTIFORMER: Was in from Lone Star for trainer Dallas Keen. This turf specialist was trying the synthetic surface and ran a good race finishing third. Claimed by trainer Jeff Mullins, who will send him to the grass in his next start. If so we will bet.
