DEL MAR

RACE 1

No. 4 AMONG THE ANGELS: First time starter for trainer Steve Miyadi got in a little tight when between runners and was green when climbing in the early going. Tried to run on but could only split the field. She will be ready for a big effort at a nice price next time out.

RACE 2

No. 9 GUNSLINGER: Was last seen running up the track at Los Al in July. He came back in this $20k maiden claimer going a mile and just freaked, winning by almost 24 lengths. He was claimed by the hot training O’Neil who will probably put him in a claim-proof starter race.

RACE 4

NO.3 REDHEADS RULE: Was coming off the layoff for trainer Peter Miller and he had this filly ready to run. She ran big but came up a half-length short. Will be very hard to beat next time out. Look for Miller to wheel this one back soon. $$$$$
