Santa Anita

NO. 6 WEIRDHAIRCUT SETH: Stupid name for a horse but this 2yo was well bet in this his first start for Hess. He battled tooth and nail the entire 5 furlong trip but could not run with the odds-on winner though almost seven lengths clear of the field in this race. If able to clear early next time the WEIRDO will be gone with his mane blowing in the wind.

NO. 5 HUNT: Was in from Ireland and ran a huge second at 5/1, just missing when failing to hold off the 2/1 chalk after gaining the lead late. He will be very hard to beat next out going a mile or longer on the grass.

NO. 9 SECOND SUMMER: Was our best bet at but the race was taken off the grass. His trainer still let him run, and despite it all he was sent off as the 9/5 favorite. But he had no shot on this course and finished a distant fourth. We would love to see this one come back going long on the grass; if so we will be playing.
