SANTA ANITA

RACE 1

NO. 2 DAY IN THE SUN: Really didn’t do much in this $25k claimer going a mile on the dirt, but we put him on our watch list because he was claimed by Mike Puype for owner Robert Bone. These are some very sneaky connections who will have this one spotted for a top effort next time out at a price.

NO. 5 MIDNIGHT HAWK: Stumbled at the start and that cost him whatever shot he had. Pulled four wide and jockey Garcia kept him that way the entire 1-1/16 trip to finish a clear third. We will be looking for him in the winner’s circle next time out.

RACE 11

NO. 4 SASSY ASHLEY: Was coming off the layoff for Baltas and ran a good race showing early speed. She got a little tired late and just failed to hold on for the show money. With this race under her belt she will be a solid play next out going long on the grass or even down the hill. $$$

BELMONT PARK

RACE 8

NO. 10 FAUFILER: Was in from Gulfstream Park for trainer Graham Motion and was far back in this Grade 2 mile turf race in a full field of 14. She was fanned five wide into the stretch but came home like a freight train to just miss the win by a half-length. No mistakes next time. $$$
