Horses to Watch Alert
Santa Anita
Race 8 No.2 ST.VALENTINO: Was listed at 20-1 on the morning line but took a ton of early and late money and was sent off at 8-1. He chased off the rail, but got between horses leaving the backstretch. Was steadied sharply into the turn and had to swing five wide into the stretch. Made a strong late run to pick up the show dough.
and No.12 SALTY ROBBIN: Another who would have won on any other day except for having to run against the 6-5 chalk who coasted for fun, Robbin finished second more than six lengths clear of the rest and is just sitting on a win for this 20k maiden tag.
Golden Gate
Race 5 No.8 SOPHIE’S SEEKER: First time starter for trainer Lloyd Mason took plenty of early action. He looked all the winner turning for home while four wide when racing green and not changing leads. Had to settle for third when tiring in the late going.
