DEL MAR
RACE 1
NO. 1 JIMMY’S DATE
Lost by 29 lengths in his last start at the Oak Tree meet on the Pleasanton dirt but was working over this track in fine fashion and dropping in from straight maiden to $20k claiming. He took the money and went wire to wire. He was claimed by trainer Peter Miller who looks to be going all out to win the trainer’s title here. He will put this gelding in a winning spot next out, probably in a quick return.
RACE 9
NO. 6 FORMAT V
Was back in town after running ok at Churchill Downs. He was coming out of post position 1 in this 6-1/2 furlong sprint and tried to save ground while down on the inside. Had to swing out on the turn and made a big late run to finish third, losing by 1-1/4. He was claimed by Steve Miyadi who knows where to place them next time out for the win.
