NO. 4 SHEER FLATTERY: Maiden 2yo would have won on most days but was up against the highly regarded first time starter Mastery, who went off at 30-cents on the dollar. Sheer Flattery finished second but was more than nine lengths clear of the rest of his field and will be a solid single next time out. $$$$$

NO. 12 STUDENT BODY LEFT (STUCK ON THE ALSO LIST): I always look for potential key races, especially with maidens; this one could be a good one. Student Body Left, the winner despite waiting off heels on the turn, held off Klondike Creek by a head after he opened a two length lead down the lane in this mile turf race.
