DEL MAR
Race 1
No. 5 LOS BORRACHOS: Was in from Belmont Park for trainer Hess and won this race as easy as a horse can at even money. Trainer Peter Miller knows a good thing when he sees one and claimed this gelding for $25k. Look for the move up and a repeat win.
Race 5
No. 2 PUBILIUS SYRUS: This is a horse I had two weeks ago and gave out on the Race Day Las Vegas show. He was in from Gulfstream Park and looked spotted for the win. He ran a real strange race as he was sitting perfect, running second looking to pounce on the leader. All at once he dropped back to fifth but then came back on with a nice rally to finish third, losing by just 1½ lengths. Look for him to get the job done next out going long on the grass. $$$
Race 7
No. 1 SHOW ME DA LUTE: Was coming off the layoff for the red hot Baffert barn and again was a single for team Saber in the late pick four. Again, did not get the best of trips. Was breaking from post one in this mile race but somehow Bejarano got him wide as he came storming down the lane. Just had far too much ground to make up late. No mistakes next time out. $$$
Race 8
No. 3 BOWIES HERO: Trainer D’Amato has always had high hopes for this colt as he ran him in the BC Juvenile Turf last year. He just won the Oceanside on opening day at Del Mar despite having to wait off heels leaving the turn. He is only getting better with each race. $$$$$
and
No. 6 FASHION BUSINESS: Took a horrible beat here in the La Jolla as he hopped at the start and then when looking to make a winning move; had to swing four wide losing position. Came flying late just missing by a dwindling head at 12-1. We will be all over this horse next time out going long on the grass. $$$$$
Race 9
No. 3 DUKES UP: First time out for trainer Phil D’Amato who sent him a mile on the dirt. He ran a bang up second missing by a head. We would love to see this one on the grass next out.
