DEL MAR

RACE 2

No. 5 MY MAN CHUCKLES: Looks to be improving and showed a liking to the grass in this downhill turf sprint. He was steadied hard when in tight at the curve but made a big late run when between runners, just missing the show by a half-length and the place by a half-length and a head. Looks like he will love going a mile on the grass and the price will be right.

RACE 4

No. 9 SUMMER’S INDY: First time starter for trainer D’Amato took plenty of action vs. the odds-on Chatty who was exiting our HTW list. She broke slow and was four wide but kept to her task to finish a solid second more than three lengths clear of the rest. She will be a solid single next time out. $$$

RACE 5

No. 1 SECRETO PRIMERO: Looked ready to pounce in this mile turf race but after angling in he had to check off heels leaving the turn until midstretch, which cost him the race. He had plenty of run left as once clear he came again for the place while cutting into the winner’s lead. $$$

RACE 7

No. 14 INDOCTRINATION (note on the also list): Really liked this guy going 1-1/8 on the grass in this maiden race and he somehow got off at 7/1. Battled tooth and nail the entire trip only to get beat by a neck. He had to settle for second money as my ticket was sent into the loser’s box. We will be on this one next out as he is just sitting on the maiden score.

RACE 9

No. 12 MALKO (note on the also list): This deep closer is sitting on a win at a big price. He didn’t get the pace he needed here as the winner cleared early and went wire to wire. He came from last to fourth in a flash. A must use in the exotics going long on the grass.
