DEL MAR

RACE 5

NO. 3 MIDNIGHT BISOU: First time starter for Bill Spawr would have won on any other day but met up with the highly regarded Baffert first time starter Dream Tree who was sent off at 80 cents on the dollar. Bisou split horses on the turn and again into the stretch, surging like a rocket late to just miss by a nostril on the line while seven lengths clear of the third place finisher. $$$$$

RACE 8

NO. 8 HOOTIE: Was exiting our HTW list and ran big again but had a ton of trouble under a stranglehold by Espinoza. Had to be steadied hard early, which really cost him. He ended up third, beaten a length. Will be right there again next out. Maybe a different rider is in order.
