NO. 8 A RED TIE DAY: May have been best here in the $75K Lure going a mile on the grass but he lost two positions into the lane and that cost him the race. He surged late between runners to just miss by a neck and a nose with three runners on the line. Wins next out with a better trip.

NO. 4 SHIVERMETIMBERS, NO. 8 HE’S STYLISH: This was a huge race for 2yo maidens going 7 furlongs. The winner McKinzie won by more than five lengths in what was a huge effort, and several of my friends headed over to Wynn to make Kentucky Derby future bets on him. He’s Stylish and Shivermetimbers both ran big, battling each other the entire trip finishing second and third more than 11 lengths clear of the rest. Both will be hard to beat next out and we could see McKinzie moved right into a stakes race next out. $$$$$

NO. 6 PEACE: First time starter for Richard Mandella ran big in this six furlong race as he came on strong late. Had no shot at running down the lone speed, who was a very live first time starter for Bob Baffert with Drayden Van Dyke riding. Will be a force if sent long next time out. We will also keep an eye open for Van Dyke riding for Baffert in the future.

NO. 9 ACHIRA: First time starter for trainer John Shirreffs was very live in this mile turf race for maiden fillies and mares, but she was steadied leaving the second turn and that cost her. Jockey Espinoza had her five wide as she came storming home to just miss the place money by a half a length. This filly has a ton of upside and we will be on her next out.
