NO. 1 RUMPUS CAT: $50K maiden claimer was going down the hill, he ran his heart out after being stuck down on the inside finishing a very game second while almost two lengths clear of the rest in this 10-horse field. He was claimed by Richard Baltas, who will have him spotted for the win next out.
NO. 6 FALCONE: May have been best in this mile turf race for $50k maidens, but he had to be steadied hard off heels and then had to wait for room on the second turn. Once clear he blasted home late to miss by less than a length while more than four lengths clear of the rest in the 11-horse field.
