DEL MAR

Race 4

NO. 5 POWERFUL THIRST: Broke good to be a close-up fifth in a 13-horse field. He got shuffled back to 10th, but came four-wide down the lane to finish a fast-closing third, just missing the place by a dwindling head.

NO. 6 PLACIDO: Was exiting our HTW list and really had a bad trip here as he hopped onto the dirt in this downhill turf sprint and then bobbled. He really lost it after that and never was able to make a late run, finishing fourth. We will give him one more shot.

RACE 9

NO. 5 QUINNIE: Nice win with Rafael Bejarano riding in this mile turf race. We think Bejarano is going to have a big meet at Del Mar and would love to see this filly come back on the grass. She is a runner.
