SANTA ANITA

RACE 4

NO. 7 JEWELED: We will stick with Baffert and talk about this filly who they paid $190K for. She had been consistent vs. much better, hitting the board in 3 of her 4 starts with a 4th and had a big last work. Why the drop to this $20K maiden race? We don’t have the answer but she won by 10 lengths under a long Evin Roman hold and was claimed for the $20K by John Sadler as Baffert got his wish, winning and dumping. We will be interested to see where this filly runs next time out. She was worth the $20K for breeding.
