SANTA ANITA
NO.1 BOLD MONGOLIAN: Trainer Enebish Ganbat is usually overlooked in the betting but shouldn’t be, especially when sending runners on the grass. This first-time starter was running in a $30k maiden race and was let go at 18-1 in the betting. He battled tooth and nail on the front end the entire mile distance only to lose by a head while nine lengths clear of the rest. He will be a great single next time out, especially if moved to the grass.
RACE 8
NO.9 AIR VICE MARSHALL: Just ran his heart out when going head-to-head with the eventual winner, finishing second just a head behind while almost three lengths clear of the rest. We will see this one in the winners’ circle in the very near future.
