NO. 2 REACH THE WORLD: First timer for Baffert had Mike Smith riding so he must like this colt. He ran huge at 5/1, finishing a very game third just a length behind the winner (his stablemate Dabster who was exiting our HTW list) and just a half-length behind the long shot place horse. No mistakes for this one next out at a mile or longer. $$$$$

NO. 1 IKE WALKER: Looked good in this $50k claimer going a mile but caught a wet fast track and hopped in a slow start. He made a little late run to finish a game and better-than-looked third. Was claimed for the $50k by Jerry Hollendorfer, who also takes part ownership, which is a great sign. Look for Hollendorfer to have this one spotted for a quick return on his $50k investment. $$$

NO. 2 CALM THE SEA: Filly was coming off a layoff with some good works for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer. She ran ok but may not have taken to the sloppy sealed track. We will be all over this filly on a fast track next time out. $$$

NO. 5 MOR SPIRIT: Was starting his comeback after being on the Kentucky Derby trail. He had a tough trip here in the Grade 1 Malibu when pulling his jockey hard, wanting to run and then having to be steadied nearing the five-eighths pole. Better will come next out.

NO. 7 GUSTNADO: Was last seen running at Churchill Downs back in June when winning that race. He landed in the barn of Craig Dollase who put him in a good spot going 1-1/8 on the grass with the very good price-play turf rider Brice Blanc getting the call. Blanc rode this gelding to a perfect race getting his nose in front on the line for a win at 19/1. Must watch this jock in these turf routes
