NO. 1 PEACE: Maiden 2yo would have won on any other day but had the misfortune of hooking Shivermetimbers, who was exiting our HTW list. Peace battled him tooth and nail but just could not get by him, losing by a head while more than eight lengths clear of the others in this nine horse field. No mistakes next out. He will be a solid single in the picks. $$$$$

NO. 4 RESTORING HOPE: We think this race for straight maidens could end up being a key one. These three 2yo battled it out in a three horse race with BLITZ just holding on to beat first time starter HOPE by the shortest of noses with MONMARTRE the post time favorite only ¾ of a length behind both of them and six lengths in front of the rest in this nine horse field. HOPE for Baffert had some nice works for this and will be our $$$$$ play next out, but keep an eye on all runners exiting this race.

NO. 3 LASEEN: We will hopefully see this filly running on the grass at Santa Anita. She was let go at 12/1 in the 1-3/8 Red Carpet Handicap and got stuck down on the rail with absolutely no place to get out. Once clear in deep stretch she finished with a buzz, just missing second by a half-length and the win by a length. $$$

NO. 3 CHARLIE COWDEN: These two exit a $30K maiden claimer with , a first time starter, running a game second despite being stuck down on the rail and lacking room at the top of the stretch. Once clear he still had enough left to hold off the fast closing Charlie Cowden by 3/4 of a length. Cowden was more than three lengths clear of the rest in this 10 horse field. We would love to see these two come back and meet each other again at this$30K price tag at Santa Anita.

NO. 4 CAMINO DE ESTRELLA: Another real tough beat on a 7/1 shot as this guy came running like a freight train late, making a four wide run to just miss by a dwindling head. We would love to see him wheeled back by Tim Yakteen before Los Al TB ends this meet.
