NO. 7 SHAZARA: Took the worst of it in this 1-1/16 turf route as she was steadied when getting in tight leaving the second turn and again when checking off heels in upper stretch. Once clear she made a nice late run to finish a clear second.
NO. 3 BERNIN SENSATION: Was exiting our HTW list and got the job done in this six furlong sprint. This colt has a ton of upside for Baffert, and being by Bernardini he will love longer, which he should get next out.
NO. 5 CALIFORNIA DIAMOND: This very tough 2yo colt trained by Peter Miller ran a great race here to get the win. He was reserved in the early going while on the inside. Moved out for room and had to go back to the inside but was forced outside. Once clear he just ran like a very good horse to surge away to win by 1-1/4 lengths. Lots more to see in this colt as the distances get longer. Kent D looks to have found a Kentucky Derby hopeful. $$$$$
