LOS ALAMITOS
DULVERTON DARLING: Maiden filly really didn’t run a top race in this $50k maiden claimer but she also did not get the best of trips. Trainer Andrew Lerner, who is picking up some good business and winning at a high rate, claimed her for the $50k. Look for him to have her spotted for the win next out and the price will be right.
GIVE ME THE LUTE: Ran a big second going five furlongs on the Santa Anita turf course in this maiden special race. This race will have him set up perfectly for those five-furlong turn sprints at Del Mar. He will be a great single.
THE STREET FIGHTER: This one ran to his name in this $40k optional claimer as he had to take back to last after being crowded at the start. He then was steadied hard when in tight on the second turn, losing two positions. He was taken to the inside and finished with a big rally to just miss by a half length in what was a street fighting effort to say the least.
MONGOLIAN HERO: When we go looking for a big price, Mongolian Hero could give us one when he makes his second start, hopefully at Del Mar, going long on the grass, and we would love to see a new jockey on him in his next start who can get him out of the gate with a clean start.
MICKELSON: This first time 2-year-old for brothers Desormeaux ran big first out of the gate in this 4½ furlong sprint at a big price. This race will have him set for the win next out and it could come at Los Alamitos TB.
