SANTA ANITA

HAUGHTY GIRL: Filly was coming off the layoff for trainer John Shirreffs and she ran a much better-than-looked fourth as she was down on the inside and then came out for room into the stretch to make a late run home. With this race under her belt she will be a much tighter filly next out going a mile or longer on the grass.

CE CE: First-time starter for trainer Michael McCarthy took some action at the betting windows and ran like the money as she just stormed home to win going away, beating the odds on Baffert runner Honeyfromthesouth while under a Victor Espinoza hand ride. She had a lot left in the tank and ran like longer will be no problem.

CITY RAGE: First-time starter for trainer Mark Glatt ran huge despite getting caught down on the inside and having to wait off heels leaving the turn. He came out for room but angled back in and split runners to just miss the show dough by a nostril. He will be a nice price next out.

RINSE AND REPEAT: Just missed in his last start by a head when going off at almost 7-1. He gives his best in every start and is a must use in the exotics. We just may see him in the winner’s circle next out.

TAPITHA BONITA: Was coming off the layoff for trainer Bill Spawr who is having a good meet. This filly won with a ton left while just getting a tap on the shoulder with the whip being turned down. She will repeat on the move up in class.
