SANTA ANITA

ACCLIMATE: He really wanted to run in this mile turf race from his rail post as he was pulling jockey Tiago Pereira hard down on the inside and then was sent between runners on the second turn but had to angle back in for room. He kept running on, just missing the place money by a head. We like his chances next out at this level and distance.

POWER DOWN: Was in from Ireland for trainer Ron Ellis who was sending this guy five furlongs on the grass. We think it was just a prep for longer and if we see him going a mile on the grass next out or longer, we will be betting.

DON’T SELL: Was one of several runners coming back to town after winning their last race at Golden Gate and winning again next out at Santa Anita for trainer Doug O’Neill. This is an angle we will need to keep a look out for as this filly won this race like a good thing at 3-1.

CABIN JOHN: Finished a second in this $35k claimer going a mile on the dirt. He was claimed by the top connections of owner Little Red Feather with the new trainer Phil D’Amato also a part owner. He could show up going long on the grass next out.

TEMPLE SECRET: Was last seen running here at Santa Anita back in October as he came back in this $75k maiden claimer and was just hammered at the betting windows going off at 7-5 only to finish second with no shot at the freakish runaway winner. He just could be a solid single next out.
