BREEZY BEE: Looked like she was hopelessly stuck down on the inside when blocked off heels and having to be steadied hard, then bumped hard in mid-stretch. She somehow got out between runners surging late to win by a widening half a length in what was a big-time effort in this $75k maiden claimer going a  mile on the grass. She can repeat.

MISS HOT LEGS-LUCKY PERIDOT: These two first-time starters were going five furlongs on the grass, both ran big races finishing second and third, with Lucky Peridot a neck behind Miss Hot Legs, while more than two lengths clear of the rest. We would love to see these two meet next out. It will be exacta box time.

SATCHEL PAIGE: Broke slow to be dead last in this 11-horse field for straight maidens. He made a big, wide run turning for home to be a clear second. He has the looks of a horse who would love to go a flat mile or even longer. We will see next out, but he is sitting on the maiden score.

GQ COVERGIRL: Was last seen running up the track at Del Mar back in July of 2018. She came out running in this $40k optional claimer finishing a clear second while chasing the lone speed. She was closing in on the winner but just ran out of room. No mistakes next time out.

PIG IRON: Just loved him in this six-furlong maiden claimer as he got off at 3-1. He ran his race but just could not get by the 9-5 speed, finishing second more than six lengths clear of the rest in this nine-horse field, He will be a solid single next out.
