SANTA ANITA

AVALANCHE: Trainer John Sadler has done a great job getting this horse in top form. He really showed his stuff in a 1 1/8 turf route when coming from last at the top of the stretch and splitting runners down the lane  for the win. He really looks like a repeater.

SWIRLING: Broke from post one in this five-furlong turf sprint with bug boy J C Diaz Jr. riding. He had this mare inside and then swung to the far outside and back to the inside and stormed home for the win. He survived an inquiry and this rider looks to have some talent.

DR WYSONG: Just loved this filly going down the hill and she looked ready to pounce for the win when sitting perfect down on the inside. Jockey Flavian Prat had to swing four-wide though into the stretch and she made a big run. But it was just too late and she had to settle for third, missing the place by a dwindling neck.

SEA OF LIBERTY: Was going a mile on the grass and really looked like he wanted to be let loose as he was pulling jockey Joel Rosario out of the saddle.  Rosario had to steady him hard into the first turn, costing a lot of momentum. He made a four-wide run into the stretch to be a clear second just missing the win by a half length.

FALCONE: Was exiting our HTW list in this mile turf race and just had a horrible trip when getting in tight and checking off heels in upper stretch when he looked to be ready to make a big move. He finished a better-then-looked fourth.

FICANAS: This filly just blasted home in this downhill turf sprint for maiden fillies. When you like this course you like it and this filly just loved it. We look for trainer Sadler to keep her on this downhill turf course as she moves up the ladder.
