SANTA ANITA

CLAUDELLE-CONFIDENTLY-HOLLY HUNDY: These three maiden fillies just finished second, third and fourth and were only separated by a half length with Claudelle running a very game race in her first try on the grass as she battled on the front end the entire trip only to lose by a neck while a half length in front of Confidently, who was a nostril in front of Holly Hundy, the filly who battled Claudelle from the start. We will put all three on our watch list and if they come back in the same race next out, it will be Exacta time.

OGGONIS: First-time starter for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer really looked good winning this six- furlong sprint. He is bred to go long and also will love the grass being by Animal Kingdom. That is where we hope to see him next out vs. winners.

FLY AWAY BIRDIE: Was in from Keeneland for trainer Vladimir Cerin and was coming off a layoff. He ran a big race to finish second behind the lone speed winner. This race will have him set for the win next out and he may go long and that will be perfect.

MY MAN CHUCKLES: Was coming off a little layoff for trainer Richard Baltas who sent him down the hillside turf course. He made a big late run, closing fast to pick up the place money. Hopefully they will get this downhill turf course open and running again so we can see Chuckles in the winners’ circle next out.

POSTERIZE: Just ran too good to lose in this six-furlong maiden race as he got caught on the line by a live first-time starter in this field of 12 finishing second more than five lengths clear of the rest. He will be a solid single next out for trainer Ian Kruljac.

CARACORTADA: First-time starter for Peter Miller was the hype runner of the day and this filly took all the action as she went off at 9-5 only to finish a well beaten third. We will give her another shot.
