In a perfect world, North Carolina sports bettors would experience precisely zero problems. Sign on, make a deposit, place your bet, and wait for it to resolve. That’s the simplest sequence of events you can hope for at a North Carolina sportsbook. However, we don’t live in a perfect world, and there may come a time when you encounter an issue with a sports betting site. That’s where customer service comes in. Here are the primary ways to get help at most North Carolina sportsbooks.

Help Centers & FAQ

Any sportsbook worth your time will have a Help Center, which is essentially a categorized list of common questions/issues and their solutions. Not all Help Centers are created equal, though. We look for a few things in a Help Center:

  • Many answers to common questions
  • Categorization to help you sort through the options
  • Searchable database
  • Links to additional resources
  • Links to related questions

Many of the biggest North Carolina sportsbooks have solid Help Centers. If you can’t find an answer or help this way, you can contact customer support using the methods below.

Live Chat: Fastest and Most Accessible

Almost every sportsbook offers a live chat feature for customer support. The hours can and do vary, but most will offer help 24 hours a day. Expect this to be your first option when you need help from a customer service representative. Sportsbooks will do everything they can to encourage you to use live chat before resorting to email or phone support (if the latter is even available).

The positives of live chat support are many-fold. It’s fast, often getting a response from a representative in a few minutes or less. This can change during high-volume betting events such as March Madness or the Super Bowl. The agents are typically trained to offer additional resources, such as links to the help center or added context surrounding their answers.

The negatives, however, are worth noting. Chatbots are the worst part of live chat support, hands down. Many sportsbooks will have you start the customer service journey by interacting with a pesky robot. The robot will often suggest help pages and FAQs that don’t answer your question. It can take minutes to get in touch with an actual agent.

Even though chatbots constitute a significant drawback, live chat is still among the best ways to get help from a sportsbook in North Carolina.

Email: Reliable and Constant

Every sportsbook in NC has some sort of email support. This comes in one of two formats:

  • An online request form
  • A direct email address

There isn’t much difference other than how you contact each type of email support forum. The online request form usually has you select a category and describe your issue in detail. You can also attach images or other documents to further detail your issue. Direct emails are simple: Copy the email address and email the support team.

Response times with email can vary. Most sportsbooks advertise a response time of 24-48 hours. In our experience, sportsbooks tend to respond much faster. During one test, I emailed FanDuel and got a response in about an hour. Your experience will vary based on your issue and the time of your request. Just note that email can be among the slower methods of getting help.

Phone Support: Good if You Can Get It

I consider phone support to be the Holy Grail of online betting customer support. Very few sportsbooks offer it, and when they do, they do everything they can to steer users toward other methods. If you find a sportsbook with phone support, that’s a big benefit. Wait times are often as few as five minutes, though the hours can be somewhat prohibitive (24/7 phone support costs a lot for sportsbooks to maintain or outsource).

Social Media

The final option for customer support is to contact a sportsbook’s social media channels. These include Instagram, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter). However, we don’t recommend using these methods unless the sportsbook explicitly says they will offer support that way. Chances are their messages are flooded with spam or angry customers, and they won’t see your message.
