An Italian team will move on to the 2023 UEFA Champions League Final as a EuroDerby between the two Milan clubs comes to a decision. As we prepare to find out who will secure a ticket to Istanbul, we look at Inter vs. AC Milan odds, props, and a prediction for Tuesday’s second leg.

As it was in the first leg, the iconic San Siro Stadium will host this next encounter. This time around, it will be Inter who will be the “home” side with shades of Black and Blue in the stands of the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Inter won the first leg, 2-0, behind goals from Edin Džeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the opening 11 minutes of the encounter. If Milan comes back to tie on aggregate, extra time and a penalty shootout may be needed to decide the winner.

Inter Roster, Injuries, and Betting News

Inter Milan was the last Italian team to win the UEFA Champions League trophy, 13 years ago, when Jose Mourinho led them to a win over Bayern Munich. They are one match away from being the first Serie A team in five years to play in the final and could be on their way to lifting its fourth title.

Simone Inzaghi is the Internazionale manager these days and has already led his side to three titles, a Coppa Italia and two Supercoppa Italiana. He has also won against AC Milan, including two victories this year.

After last week’s first leg, Inter went on to win 4-2 over Sassuolo over the weekend. The Nerazzurri are riding a seven-game winning streak across all competitions.

Roster

André Onana started in goal in the first leg with a back three of Matteo Darmian, Francesco Acerbi, and Alessandro Bastoni. Inter’s five-man midfield consisted of Denzel Dumfries, Nicolò Barella, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Federico Dimarco. Lautaro Martínez and Edin Džeko were the two forwards up front.

Romelu Lukaku and Joaquin Correa, who started over the weekend, were among the five substitutions used by Inzaghi in the first leg. It is likely that Inter will take a similar approach with a two-goal lead in their favor but it doesn’t hurt to have Lukaku coming off a double.

Lautaro Martínez also scored on Saturday and could be a choice to be the first goalscorer. Midfielder Federico Dimarco has been instrumental with five assists in this edition of the tournament including one in the win over Milan.

AC Milan Roster, Injuries, and Betting News

Seven-time Champions League winner AC Milan has been in a decline since last winning in 2007 in Athens. Manager Stefano Pioli has restored some recent success, leading Milan to its first league title in 12 years, but the club is in danger of missing next year’s tournament due to their fifth-place standing in Serie A.

One way to make sure they qualify for next year would be to win this edition. Overturning a 2-0 deficit may not be as daunting as playing it in their home stadium, despite the “away” status, but is this team good enough to live up to the moment?

Milan lost 2-0 to 17th-place Spezia over the weekend and players went over to talk to traveling supporters. There is pressure mounting on the Red and Black but a big victory in this series could help remedy the current situation.

Roster

Mike Maignan is the man in goal and will get the start barring a last-minute change. Davide Calabria, Simon Kjær, Fikayo Tomori, and Theo Hernández were the back four in the first leg with Rade Krunić and Sandro Tonali in front as defensive midfielders. Brahim Díaz, Ismaël Bennacer, and Alexis Saelemaekers were up front with Olivier Giroud as the lone forward.

Rafael Leão, who alongside Giroud leads the team with 13 goals across all competitions, is likely to be back for this encounter. Perhaps replacing Bennacer, the return of Leão would go a long way in providing an outlet for the Milan attack.

Milan are on a two-match losing streak after being unbeaten in their previous six. History is on their side having won the series in the two other times they’ve faced Inter in the UCL knockout stage.

Injuries

Questionable: Rafael Leão (thigh)

Out: Ismael Bennacer (knee), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (calf)

Inter vs. AC Milan Prediction

It sure feels like Inter will win its first knockout series in the Champions League against their crosstown rivals. That potent attack with Martinez, Lukaku, and Dzeko is a tough out for any defense.

For Milan to have a chance, they have to get their offense going with Leão and Giroud as the prime targets. If you think the comeback can be had, the best value on Milan will be to pick them to advance. It’s probably more likely for Milan to win this game but for Inter to win the series on aggregate.

Here are a few bets on DraftKings that are worth considering:

  • Inter: +110
  • First scorer: Lautaro Martínez (+450), Olivier Giroud (+280)
  • Anytime scorer: Lautaro Martínez (+160), Romelu Lukaku (+230), Olivier Giroud (+280), Rafael Leao (+300)
