JACK Entertainment, after completing the initial renovations last year at its downtown Cleveland casino, will now install a second “BioWall” at its Thistledown Racino, also in Northeast Ohio.
BioWall, designed, installed and maintained by Furbish, is a vegetated wall that naturally filters air and removes harmful pollutants. “Indoor air quality is one of the least discussed environmental hazards affecting our health,” said John Pickering, Bio-Wall Product Manager. “Most of us spend the majority of our time indoors, and poor indoor air quality leaves us susceptible to health issues,” he added.
JACK Entertainment had already completed a redesign of 125 table games, training over 1,500 employees, and replacing hundreds of signs at the Cleveland location. The casino originally opened in partnership with Caesars Entertainment, but officially separated from Caesars last May. Formerly known as Horseshoe Cleveland, the casino is now JACK Cleveland Casino and is managed by Detroit-based JACK Entertainment.
Dan Gilbert, who is also the majority owner of the NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers, controls JACK Entertainment.
Editor’s note: The above article was updated to reflect that the new BioWall will be at the JACK Thistledown Racino not at the JACK Cleveland Casino location.
