Anderson Silva Betting: How ‘The Spider’ Got Here
Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva had a legendary MMA career that included a 17-fight win streak before losing his UFC Middleweight title to Chris Weidman by knockout in 2013.
Silva, now 47, has faced and beaten the likes of Chael Sonnen, Vitor Belfort, Yushin Okami, Forrest Griffin, Dan Henderson, and Rich Franklin. For over a decade, the Spider was almost untouchable, and it’s why today he is considered one of MMA’s G.O.A.Ts.
He finished his MMA career with a 34-11 record that included 23 wins by knockout.
The Brazilian will attract the most eyes he’s seen in a few years, and Saturday’s bout will easily be the most attention he’s received in boxing.
Though his fight IQ and experience far exceed that of his opponent, it may be hard for the older fighter to score a finish against someone as young as Paul. Silva has to rely on his long reach and quick jab to pepper Paul for points.
Silva by decision or technical decision is tempting at around +600.
Jake Paul Betting: ‘The Problem Child’ Remains Undefeated
Paul, 25, is still undefeated in his early boxing career. He has turned heads in the combat sports community based on his name and former career on YouTube and Disney Channel alone. MMA fans love to hate him, and boxing fans simply just hate him.
Paul has been looking for a fight since his rematch with Woodley, but nothing had come through until the Silva deal was worked out. He was previously scheduled to fight Tommy Fury, but that fight fell apart due to travel issues with the Fury family.
The replacement was Hasim Rahman Jr., but he pulled out after weight-cut issues and the fight card was canceled.
So after trying to schedule two fights with professional boxers, Paul is back to his bread and butter and now the fight world is watching as he looks to take down another MMA star.
While Silva has the experience, Paul has shown fairly decent bodywork and toughness, his footwork was lacking in his past couple of bouts against Woodley. He will also need to be sure to bring a full gas tank against Silva, who will most likely have his cardio up to par on Saturday night if the fight heads to later rounds.
For those who favor Paul, taking him by decision at +170 seems like the safe play.

Paul vs. Silva Props
Sportsbooks and media are split on who will get their hand raised on Saturday night, but it seems most feel if the fight goes the distance, it’s Paul’s.

For those who believe in Paul’s right hand, +310 for Paul via KO/TKO on FanDuel could be a good option.
