Remember when Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase was struggling to catch the ball during the preseason? It was much ado about nothing, as Chase went on to have a great rookie season. And now there are Ja’Marr Chase Super Bowl props and touchdown scorer bets aplenty to consider.
Chase’s regular season saw him haul in 81 receptions for 1,455 yards and 13 touchdowns. He wasn’t quite Cooper Kupp, but Chase and quarterback Joe Burrow picked right back up as if they were still at LSU.
Chase added 20 receptions for 279 yards and a touchdown in three playoff games. The question now is how Chase will fare in Super Bowl 56 against the Los Angeles Rams.
If you think Chase will have a big game, sportsbooks have Super Bowl props for that. If you think he’ll be bottled up by a stellar defensive team, there are prop bets for that as well.
Here’s a look at just some of the Ja’Marr Chase Super Bowl props worth considering between now and Feb. 13.
Ja’Marr Chase Super Bowl 56 Props
Chase’s best chance of scoring the game’s first TD will be if the Rams win the toss and defer to the second half. If that happens and the Bengals get the ball first, Burrow will look to target his favorite receiver early in an attempt to set the tempo.
Ja’Marr Chase to score 3+ touchdowns +3300 (BetRivers)
Chase did score three of his 13 touchdowns in a regular-season win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The Rams, however, are another level of defense and will look to pressure Burrow repeatedly. If they get to him, it’s hard to see Chase catching three touchdowns.
Ja’Marr Chase under 5.5 receptions +115 (DraftKings)
Chase had at least six receptions in two of Cincinnati’s three playoff games but was held fewer than six catches in 11 of 17 games during the regular season. Even if you toss out the regular-season finale when Chase saw limited action, he was held under six catches in 10 of 16 games.
Ja’Marr Chase Longest Reception over/under 27.5 yards -114 (FanDuel)
Including the playoffs, Chase’s longest reception was at least 28 yards in 11 of 20 games this season. He surpassed that mark in each of his first seven games, so defenses did a better job of containing him after that.
Most Receiving Yards: Ja’Marr Chase +148, Cooper Kupp -186 (BetRivers)
Chase had a great season for a rookie. Kupp had one of the best seasons for any receiver. Both players are capable of breaking a 50-yard touchdown, and it may only take one big play to determine the outcome of this prop bet.
Ja’Marr Chase to win Super Bowl 56 MVP Award +1800 (PointsBet)
If Chase has a spectacular performance and the Bengals win, it likely means Burrow had an even more outstanding performance. Chase needs to break short passes into lengthy gains to surpass Burrow in the eyes of voters.
Ja’Marr Chase or Cooper Kupp to score on a 50+ yard TD catch: Yes +225 (DraftKings)
It may not even take a missed tackle or two for Chase or Kupp to break off a long touchdown. With their route running skills, they can simply make defensive backs miss.
Ja’Marr Chase to have the most receiving yards in Super Bowl 56 +400 (DraftKings)
Cupp is the favorite at +120, with Chase second on the board.
Ja’Marr Chase Over 124.5 receiving yards +405 (BetRivers)
Chase had at least 125 yards in four games, but it will be surprising if he can pull that off in the biggest game of his career. He’s fully capable, but the Rams will likely make things tough on Burrow most of the night.
