This week I found Jamms Restaurant (1029 S. Rainbow Blvd.), a small family owned business that has been open for 13 years.

I can’t believe it took me this long to find it. They are open daily from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. serving breakfast and lunch. Las Vegas is home to some of the best breakfast places anywhere and Jamms fits right in there with the best of them.

When I go to a new place for the first time I never know what I want – eggs, pancakes or waffles? Jamms came up with a brilliant idea, offering all their best breakfast items as Tapas-style small plates. I was able to have both an omelet and pancakes while my wife had an omelet and a waffle.

The signature omelet consisted of sliced steak, onions, mushrooms and cheese. It was fantastic. I also ordered the peanut butter chocolate chip pancakes. Pure heaven. They have become my new favorite pancake in Las Vegas.

My wife ordered a Ham and Cheese omelet, which she liked a lot, and added a waffle with fruit. She was also a big fan of the tapas and small plate portions.

The menu is massive so I’ll have to go back and try some of the lunch items, including a big selection of burgers. But, hey, who am I kidding? I’ll be ordering a side dish of peanut butter chocolate chip pancakes.

If you are in a hurry you can order Express Lunch. For $6.95 you can get soup and a half sandwich. You can pick from ham, turkey, egg salad or tuna salad. The Express Lunch is available from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday.

Jamms has several tempting desserts but the one that caught my eye was the Waffle Sundae, which will be on my to-do list in the very near future. I can’t stress how much the tapas size portions for breakfast is a genius idea. We tried four different things with two drinks all for $25.

If you are a social networker, like them on Facebook and show the cashier when checking out. They will take 10% off your bill.

The staff was very friendly and attentive, the food was great plus the prices were very affordable. I give Jamms 3.75 Forks.
