Some entertainers can sing Pop. Some can sing R&B. Some can sing Opera. Most entertainers can only dream of having the range to sing it all. Janien Valentine is one of the few that has that range.
Valentine knew what she wanted to be and started to pursue it when she was just a child. She started dancing at five years old and then began both acting and singing when she was 13. A product of upstate New York and a graduate of Niagara University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Valentine made her mark on the theater scene starring in lead roles in such notable shows as Rocky Horror Picture Show, Hair, and Little Shop of Horrors, to name just a few. She toured the world on cruise ships and even has several movie credits as an actress under her belt.
Moving to Las Vegas is when she took the Strip by storm. Many locals and visitors alike are familiar with Janien as a co-star of the long running hit show, The Scintas. She has shared the stage along with the likes of Clint Holmes and Donny & Marie.
Whichever Strip location you visit, odds are you have seen her shine. Janien had the leads in Starlight Express at the Hilton, Peepshow at Planet Hollywood and Post Modern Jukebox at Mirage along with a slew of other smash shows along Las Vegas Boulevard.
It was her starring roles as Carmen (Carmen … the Musical) and Esmeralda (Notre Dame De Paris) that brought her worldwide acclaim. She has become so much of an attraction that many who visit the bright lights of Vegas schedule their trips to the city to coincide with her appearances.
When asked about performing during these troubled times that many venues are shut down, the winner of Best Female Singer from both the Las Vegas Review Journal and the Las Vegas Sun said,” Performing for me is a spiritual exchange of emotions between me and the audience and I am missing that right now. I am sure the fans out there are missing it as well.”
The proud single mother of two teenagers is very excited about a new project she is working on. Working with co-writer and producer Kirk Wan on the Wan Nation label, she has 28 songs “in the can.” Valentine and Wan are tirelessly mastering and engineering the collection and narrowing it down for her yet untitled new album, which will be out shortly.
For those of you who can’t wait, you can catch this lovely and talented lady at famed locale, The Vegas Room (953 E. Sahara Avenue Suite E18) August 14-15. Janien is bringing her “Decades of Diva’s” show to this unique venue. With a variety of songs from Pop, to Broadway, to Opera, to Aretha Franklin, this show encompasses everything.

Famed Strip headliner and entertainment icon, Frankie Scinta said: “Janien Valentine is a multi-gifted singer/entertainer. Her ability to bolt out a pop song with authority and then the very next minute touch the heart of any audience with a beautiful ballad or even an opera piece is amazing. She gives her all every performance and loves what she does. This girl is talented.”
You can follow her for any news, updates, and scheduled performances on both her Instagram and Facebook pages: Janien Valentine. She is also performing live at the legendary Italian American Club (2333 East Sahara Avenue) on August 19 and the 26 in the Lounge. All info for this and future events can be found at iacvegas.com.
“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all,” Valentine said. Believe me when I say seeing Janien Valentine is a true adventure and a must see.
