We kept our winning ways going last week in the NFL preseason with 4-2 heading into Monday’s game. We will try to keep things going, especially with college football starting this Saturday with three games. We will have a few plays.
Preseason NFL – Thursday
Dolphins at Eagles: At one time this was called dress rehearsal week as most teams would play all of their starters. Nowadays we just never know, with the sad condition of the fake NFL and its multimillion dollar spoiled players into themselves more than the game and what they are getting paid for. We will simply go with the flow and try to come up with a few winners. In this game the Eagles look to be a solid play. They have gone 7-0 ATS in their last seven Week 3 preseason games and are the better team, especially at home. EAGLES
Jets at Giants: The Jets are just bad but catch the Giants in a very short week for them as they played on Monday. We also note the Giants have gone just 1-8 ATS in their last nine Week 3 games. We will take the points. JETS
Browns at Bucs: Solid play here as Tampa catches the Browns off Monday home game and travel situation. Cleveland has gone 1-6 ATS in their last seven Week 3 games. The Bucs are 5-1 ATS and have played UNDER the total in six of the last seven Week 3’s. TAMPA/UNDER
Colts at Steelers: All this bettor can say is the Pittsburgh defense is for real under head coach Mike Tomlin. The Steelers have gone OVER in six of their last seven Week 3 games. We hope to see Big Ben in the first half but the backup Pittsburgh QBs have been just fine. STEELERS/OVER
Bengals at Redskins: Usually this bettor doesn’t like to play against a team we had the previous week and lost, but in this case we will. Cincy was a complete no show last week vs. the Chiefs and now travels to Washington. The Redskins are looking to get a win after dropping their first two preseason games. The “Skins” have gone 9-1 ATS in their last 10 Week 3 games. REDSKINS
College football – Saturday
Oregon St. +3.5 at Colorado St.: We think the Rams will be very good this year under third year head coach Mike Bobo, who had a winning record in his first two seasons and gets back nine starters on his defense. Bobo also has his starting QB back along with a top notch backfield. The Beavers from Corvallis have not fared well as a road dog of +16 points or less going just 1-8-1 ATS. We also note Colorado State had the fourth best red zone offense in the nation last year. It’s a huge home game for the Rams. COLORADO ST.
Rice +31 vs. Stanford (in Sydney, Australia): Very long trip for both teams and plenty expensive. We will follow the money here as Stanford opened as a -35 point favorite and has been bet down to the current line. The Cardinal lost some key players to the NFL and will be doing a lot of running in this game. We see no reason for a blowout just to keep the Aussie fans interested in the game. This is a must take. RICE
Now we move into our key horse bet of the week and this Wednesday we will feature two singles in the late pick four at Del Mar.
In race 6, No. 4 WINEMENOW finds a field loaded with early speed. This filly gets her second start off the layoff and second here at Del Mar at this five furlong turf distance. She will be flying late running down the tiring speed.
Moving to race 7, the $75k Harry F. Brubaker at a mile on the dirt, trainer Bob Baffert looks to keep things going as he sends his big white runner No. 6 CUPID, who has been training like a tiger here and looks set off the layoff in this prep race for much bigger.
In the first leg of the late pick four, which is race 5, it is a wide open 2yo maiden race for $40k claimers with most being first time starters, so you will need to go deep.
In the last leg, which is race 8, a couple to use are No. 1 ACKER and No. 9 DIVISOR.
Twin Q: We are really blessed as horse players here in Las Vegas, especially with all the free stuff. As horse bettors it is good to feel lucky so get out and take a shot at the $10k twin Q only offered here in Vegas at Station Casinos racebooks.
You could be walking around lucky and not even know it.
