Recently after a busy Thursday morning, I headed to the Strip for a power lunch. Thursday’s are quite hectic for me as I cohost Pregame’s First Preview Radio Show with Scott Spreitzer.

As soon as we are off the air I head to the production studio to shoot videos for the website that can be seen at Pregame.tv as we preview games for the upcoming weekend.

After a busy morning and early afternoon one tends to get pretty hungry, so I headed on over to the Strip for lunch. I hadn’t been there in a while and actually forgot how good Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steaks & Stone Crab is.

Joe’s is located at 3500 Las Vegas Blvd. If you are entertaining clients or having a business meeting and really want to impress, take them to Joe’s. Trust me, you’ll have their complete attention.

Joe’s is widely known for their Stone Crab but the menu has something for everyone. When it comes to lunch they have a complete menu with some great specials. On this particular visit there were two different specials that caught my eye.

The first was a Filet Mignon served with Jennie’s mashed potatoes, Joe’s grilled Tomato, and Banana Cream Pie for dessert. Now that’s what I call a power lunch. The second offering is Florida Stone Crab Claws served with Hash Brown Potatoes, Cole Slaw and for dessert Joe’s famous Key Lime Pie.

If you ever have had Joe’s stone crabs it’s hard not to order those. If you haven’t had them you must put them on your list. I went with the stone crab and wasn’t disappointed. I started my lunch by adding a cup of soup, which for just $1 add on with any entrée is an absolute steal. I ordered the Crab Bisque, which I think is the best in the city – and second isn’t even close.

If you are looking for a lighter lunch, I would highly recommend the Crab Louis Luncheon Salad. It is the bomb if you are a seafood lover. The salad is loaded with seafood and their dressing is out of this world. I know it’s hard to believe I eat many salads, but when I do this one is on the top of my list.

Also check out Joe’s Dry Aged Ribeye Sandwich with Mushrooms and Onions, Beef Au Jus and Cottage Fries. This steak sandwich should make others ashamed. It doesn’t get any better than that! There are many places on the Strip that offer $15 burgers these days so for $17.95, compared to a gourmet burger, this steak sandwich is a steal.

Now that it’s baseball season there is usually a game or two on in the afternoon so if you want to slip away and watch a few innings, Joe’s is the way to go.

When you combine great service and even better food I have to give Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steaks & Stone Crab a rating of 3.75 Forks out of 4.
