Knicks vs. Heat Betting News

New York’s Road Struggles May Haunt Them

Once again, New York’s Big Three handled almost all of the scoring, making up 88 of the team’s 112 points in Game 5. No other Knicks player scored more than eight points, which would normally spell danger, but the Big Three made up for it by shooting a combined 11-for-25 from behind the arc.

Jalen Brunson — the Knicks’ leading scorer in four-straight games — exerted himself to keep his team’s playoff run alive by playing all 48 minutes. He had 38 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists in a season-extending performance.

The Knicks now go on the road, where they’re 2-3 compared to 4-1 at home in these playoffs. Two of those road losses came at the hands of Miami. New York is shooting 26.5% from behind the arc in road games, so the team may have to turn to Julius Randle for interior scoring.

The player who’s been the most affected by the change in atmosphere is RJ Barrett, who’s averaging 24.2 points at Madison Square Garden versus just 16.8 points in foreign territory. Another inefficient night shooting may be in the cards for Barrett.

Vintage Butler, Strong Defense Both Keys for Miami

Five different Heat players scored in double figures in Game 5, but none reached 20 points. Jimmy Butler, who scored at least 25 points through the first eight games of this postseason, logged just 19 points on Wednesday — his fewest points in this postseason.

Miami shot 3-for-19 from downtown in the first half before finding their rhythm and coming back in the second half. But unlike the closeout game against the Milwaukee Bucks when they came back from down 16, the Heat couldn’t hit timely buckets against the Knicks when it mattered most.

Like New York, the Heat aren’t shooting great in this series, but they’ve done enough to be one win away from the Eastern Conference Finals. A do-everything performance from Butler and a strong defensive effort from Miami may be all it takes to finally move on to the next round.

Knicks vs. Heat Game 6 Prediction

The Heat are 8-2 ATS in the postseason, which is the best record of any team. They achieved that record in large part because of Butler’s ability to elevate his game come playoff time.

Butler took just 12 shots in Game 5, and the team lost as a result. That won’t be the case on Friday, where Butler will likely be ultra aggressive and post a loaded stat line.

The Knicks had an abnormally hot hand from three in Game 5 to extend the series. But they now travel to Miami, where they haven’t shot nearly as well from distance.

Take Miami to cover the spread.
