The Seattle Kraken jumped out to a one-game lead over the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Semifinals. The puck drops tomorrow on Kraken vs. Stars Game 2 in Dallas, Texas.
Overtime was needed in the first game of the series after the Stars rallied in the third period to force a 4-4 draw at the end of 60 minutes. The Kraken’s Yanni Gourde would net the game-winner in overtime, overshadowing the Stars’ Joe Pavelski’s four-goal performance.
Anticipation for Game 2 is high, with the Kraken looking to take the series to home ice in firm control. As for Dallas, they look to avoid an intimidating two-game deficit before going on the road. We’ll take a look below at the Kraken vs. Stars odds, prop bets, and predictions for tonight’s contest and the series.

Kraken vs. Stars Betting News
The Dallas Stars are looking for the franchise’s fifth Stanley Cup Finals appearance. Despite their five appearances, they’ve won Lord Stanley’s Cup just once: the 1999 season. The upstart Kraken, in their second season, picked up the franchise’s first-ever playoff series win with their series victory over the Avalanche.
Joe Pavelski, in his first game back from a concussion, scored an aptly-named Texas Hat Trick, netting all four of Dallas’ goals, as his team ultimately came up short.
Dallas got onto the board early with Pavelski’s first of four goals coming in the opening minutes of the game. After two goals by Jaden Schwartz and one apiece by Jordan Eberle and Oliver Bjorkstrand, the Kraken pulled out to a 4-2 lead in a high-scoring first period.
After a scoreless second, Pavelski netted a snap shot halfway through the third to pull within one goal. Minutes later, Pavelski batted in a loose puck to even the scoreboard and force overtime. He became the oldest player in NHL history to score at least four goals in an NHL playoff game.
Despite a turn in momentum, the Seattle Kraken ultimately prevailed in overtime. 12 minutes into the extra period, Gourde slapped in a loose puck in front of the Dallas net to stun the home crowd.
Neither the Stars nor Kraken were preseason favorites to be fighting for a spot in the Western Conference Finals. Seattle was heavy underdogs to the Colorado Avalanche in their opening-round series. The Kraken won a tight Game 7 to send the reigning champions packing.
Dallas opened the Stanley Cups Playoffs with a first-round series against the Minnesota Wild. As slight favorites, the Central Division’s second-place Stars knocked out the Wild four games to two.
The winner of the Stars vs. Kraken series will face either the Vegas Golden Knights or the Edmonton Oilers for a trip to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Kraken vs. Stars Game 2 Prediction: Stars -1.5
We’re backing Dallas in our Kraken vs. Stars prediction for Game 2. With heavy chalk on the home team’s moneyline, bet the Dallas Stars on the puck line at -1.5 for plus money. It was an off-night for the usually stout Jake Oettinger in net — expect the goaltender to return to the elite-level performance he displayed in the Wild series.
Pavelski was phenomenal in his return on the ice, but the Stars will need additional help if they want to avoid a two-game hole. Tyler Seguin and Roope Hintz, in particular, will have to bounce back from a disappointing series opener. The Kraken defense has shown they can concede goals — a tighter performance by the Stars’ backline and they should even up the series.
Our Kraken vs. Stars best bet, take Dallas laying 1.5 goals.
