Kraken vs. Stars Betting News

The Kraken’s season looked dead in the water after losing two-straight games in this series. Seattle managed to keep their season alive with a win Saturday night, playing a win-or-go-home seventh game for the second series in a row.

Seattle faced the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Colorado Avalanche, in the franchise’s first-ever playoff series. Seattle stunned the reigning champs, winning the first-round series, 4-3. Dallas won its opening series against the Minnesota Wild, 4-2.

The Kraken struck first on Saturday night with Yanni Gourde finding the back of the net with a wrist shot halfway through the first period. Dallas responded quickly to tie up the score, with Mason Marchment converting a feed from Tyler Seguin. Seattle’s Jordan Eberle’s fifth goal of the postseason then gave the Kraken a 2-1 lead going into the second period.

Seattle scored two quick goals in the second period to extend their lead to 4-1. Eeli Tolvanen and Tye Kartye scored for the Kraken. A Joe Pavelski tip-in (his eighth goal of the playoffs) cut the deficit to two heading into the final period.

Dallas was unable to close the gap in the third period. Joel Kiviranta scored for Dallas, but two more goals by the Kraken — including Eberle’s second of the night — secured the win for Seattle.

Jake Oettinger went 14-for-18 in net for the Stars before being replaced by Scott Wedgewood five minutes into the second period. Wedgewood went 9-for-10 in relief. Philipp Grubauer played well for the Seattle Kraken, saving 20 of the 23 shots he faced in goal.

Both teams had three power play opportunities on the night and each team went 1-for-3 with the man advantage. The Kraken outshot the Stars 29 to 23, including a first period in which they battered the Dallas’ crease with 16 shots while only seeing five shots on their backend.

Kraken vs. Stars Game 7 Prediction: Over Six Goals

The Stars have yet to lose two-straight games in the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs, due in part to goaltender Jake Oettinger’s resiliency in bouncing back from poor games. Dallas’ experience and home ice should give it the edge in tonight’s matchup, but its moneyline — close to -200 — is pretty high for a Game 7 clash.

We like Dallas to win and advance in our Kraken vs. Stars prediction, but Over six goals is the better bet. Both offenses have found their groove, and each game in the series has either hit or eclipsed six goals. With a win-or-go-home Game 7, expect the goals to come in bunches.

To get a higher payout, consider a Kraken vs. Stars bet on the exact score — Dallas to win 4-3 pays out $1,300 on a $100 bet at DraftKings Sportsbook.
