Once again, I ventured out to a place where I could enjoy some good food while watching football.

This week I went to one of my favorite spots to watch NFL games on a Sunday morning — Skinny Dugan’s Casino & Lounge, located at 4127 W. Charleston Blvd. This long-time local establishment is a hidden gem for the NFL if you get there early enough, try to secure a table in the private room in the back.

The room has four tables and eight TV’s. The main wall has six TV’s as there are two rows of thre stacked over each other. There is one TV on each side wall, so no matter which table you are sitting at you have a direct look at seven games at once. It really makes for a fun viewing experience especially if your games are going well.

When I come here, I order one of two things, depending if I’m there for the early games or the late games. Usually I’m here for the early games and that means I’m ordering breakfast. Skinny Dugan’s has a breakfast special that you can’t pass up. The Ham Steak ‘N’ Eggs special comes in two sizes. You can get a 16-oz. bone in Ham Steak ‘N’ Eggs, hash browns and toast for $8.99. Trust me. if you order this one and finish it, you’ll be ready for a nap afterwards as it’s so big.

They also have an 8-oz. Ham Steak version for $4.99 which is what I usually order. Honestly for the price, this breakfast is a steal.

If I come for the late games, then I’m ordering Wings and Fries. It’s that simple. Even though I usually only order one of two items, all the food is good, and the prices are great.

Skinny Dugan’s is also a great place if you sit in the main bar area as you can watch the games, drink, eat and play some video poker as they have machines throughout. It’s really like being at a local neighborhood bar where you like to just hang out at and have a few drinks with friends.

They do have a separate closed in area for dining if you want to be away from the smoke and noise of the bar. But wherever you sit, everyone is so friendly. I give Skinny Dugan’s a rating of 3.75 Forks.
