Cal bred maiden 2yo go 5-1/2 furlongs and the first thing we do is see if there are any Bob Baffert runners in here and the answer is no, so we move on from there. No. 2 Grandpa Louie has a big work here on the 4th. No. 5 Lieutenant Dan gets Franco up for Miyadi for his first start. No. 6 Scouted ran ok in his one start at Santa Anita at this level and has some solid works since. 6-2-5

Race 3

$20k maidens go 5-1/2 furlongs. No. 3 Optimum will try and take them wire-to-wire with Pedroza gunning from the bell. No. 7 Jimmy the Bull could surprise at a big price. 3**-7

Race 4

$6,250 claimers go 5-1/2 furlongs. No. 1 From the Distance gets a big class drop but draws the dreaded rail at this distance. No. 3 Here is Happy also gets a big class drop but gets Franco up. 3**-1

Race 5

THE $300K GRADE I CASH CALL AT 1-1/16

Some good ones have started their trip to the Kentucky Derby using this race. No. 1 Improbable looks to make it three in a row for team Baffert, he won his first two races at odds on. No. 2 Savagery will keep everyone honest on the front end as he will try and turn the tables on the other Baffert runner No. 6 Mucho Gusto who beat him last out in the Grade III Bob Hope. Big race Mike Smith gets back on No. 3 Dueling who he won with the only time he rode this 2yo colt. 1****-6**-2-3

KEY TRIFECTA 1 WITH 2-3-6 AND AN EXACTA BOX 1-6

Race 6

$8k starter allowance fillies and mares go 5-1/2 furlongs. No. 3 Christy Jackson is in good form and one of her two wins came here. No. 5 Lucky Student will look to take them wire-to-wire but may need to deal with No. 6 Herunbridledower who also has big early speed and has won 3 of her 4 starts here. It a speed duel happens between the two. No. 6 Princess Kendra could run them down along with Christy Jackson.

THE $300K GRADE I STARLET AT 1-1/16 FOR 2YO FILLIES

Florent Geroux is in to re-ride No. 2 Mother Mother for Baffert, he won with this filly last out in the Rags to Riches at Churchill Downs, No. 1 Vibrance has been this distance in her last two starts, both Grade I races, finishing 2nd and 3rd. Prat will take his shot today. No. 4 Oxy Lady is in from New York off a nice Grade III win in the Tempted, her jockey is in with her. No. 6 Chasing Yesterday could be any kind and is the other Baffert. 6**-2-1-4

Race 8

$40k optional runners travel a flat mile. No. 1 Croatian has been stabled here since October and owns a big last work. No. 2 Dia de Pago has been over his head the last three races, look for better. No. 9 Kylemore gets his second try at this level for Baltas, we like Prat getting back on, the one time he rode this 3yo gelding he got the win. No. 10 Appalachian Gem starts his 4yo career and lands in the barn of John Sadler and makes his first start as a gelding. 9-1-2-10

Race 9

$20k maidens travel a mile. No. 4 Bitter Ring Home gets his second try at this level and second on the dirt. No. 6 Bartlett Hall takes his 11th start but gets Franco up off a bullet last work. No. 9 Sterling’s Temple exits the same last race as Bartlett, if he can repeat his race one back he has a shot. 4-6-9
