University of Louisville Key Games
We’ve highlighted games on the Cardinals’ schedule that you may want to circle on your calendar.
UMBC: Mon, Nov. 6 | 7 p.m. ET
After the worst season in modern Louisville men’s basketball history, the Cardinals are looking to get off to a better start under head coach Kenny Payne in Year 2. While both teams have gone through major changes, Louisville should be able to start off the new season with a win over a mid-major team.
Texas: Sun, Nov. 19 | 3 p.m. ET
Louisville vs. Texas is part of the Empire Classic. With the Longhorns coming off an Elite Eight run last season, it is an early measuring stick game for the Cardinals, who will be looking to pull off the upset at Madison Square Garden.
Kentucky: Thu, Dec. 21 | 6 p.m. ET
Kentucky leads the all-time series 37-17, including 28-14 in the modern era, with the last victory coming in 2022. The Cardinals feel like the younger brother to the Wildcats, and like any sibling rivalry, the youngster will do anything and everything to triumph.
Duke: Tue, Jan. 23 | 7 p.m. ET
As the favorite to win the national championship, Duke will provide Louisville its toughest test of the season. The Cardinals fell short to the Blue Devils last season, 79-62.
Pittsburgh: Sat, Feb. 17 | 6:30 p.m. ET
Louisville suffered the most losses in program history following a 34-point road loss to Pittsburgh last season. While both teams will be different this season, the rematch in Louisville offers a story of redemption for the Cardinals.
