With the college basketball season tipping off in early November, teams across the country have already begun their preseason prep, just as online sports betting launches in Kentucky on Thursday, Sept. 28.

The Louisville Cardinals enter the 2023-24 season, Year 2 under coach Kenny Payne, with hopes of rebounding from one of the worst seasons in the history of the program in Payne’s first year on the sidelines. The Cards, who released their ‘23-24 schedule earlier this week, are expected to be much more competitive than last year’s 4-28 (2-18 ACC) team, but oddsmakers remain skeptical of whether they’ll be competitive in the ACC.

A strong start to the season could quickly change these prices, but right now, the Cardinals are understandably not considered a contender in either the ACC or the national championship picture.
